History

        Alpha Lambda Omega Christian Sorority, Inc. was founded in 1990 at the University of Texas at Austin by: Amanda Tezeno Broussard, Tyesha Elam, Dawn Walton Eberhart, and Terra Delaney O'Brien who founded this sorority in efforts to unite women who desire to experience true sisterhood without compromising their relationship with God.

 

        The name Alpha Lambda Omega collectively illustrates the Lamb of God, Jesus Christ, as the beginning and the end (Revelation 1:8, 5:2). The colors are Purple and Scarlet. The Purple represents intercession while scarlet represents humanity. These colors illustrate the women of this organization, seeking Jesus while He intercedes for humanity. The sheep is the mascot because in Psalm 100:3 it is written that "we are His people, the sheep of His pasture".

 

Vision:

 

Organization - we will rise to the unique calling God has on our lives as Christian women by utilizing our God-given talents to enhance His Kingdom.

 

Campus - Our campus will be saturated with the gospel. As a result, many souls will be saved and the body of Christ will continue to grow.

 

Body of Christ - We will uplift and encourage one another and present Christ as the answer to a dying world.

 

City - We will be a vital part of the city's efforts to help the less fortunate through volunteer services and ministry to bring about a positive change.

 

World - We will be a vehicle through which the love of God will be expressed to the world.

 

•    ALO takes an uncompromising stand for Christ. Is dedicated to spreading the Good News of Jesus Christ.

•    Believes in the Trinity which consists of God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit (II Corinthians 13:14).

•    Believes that everything belongs to God-including our talents, time, bodies, etc. (Psalm 24:1).

•    Believes that Jesus Christ died for the sins of the world, rose from the dead, and now dwells with the Father.

​​

•    Believes that Jesus Christ is the only name by which men can be saved.

​​

•    Consists of women who have a hunger and thirst for the Word of God and righteousness.
